Which Logitech mouse should I pick up?

FRD

I'm currently in the market for a Logitech mouse to match with my Logitech keyboard.

Requirements are that it has to be wireless and black. New or used is considered both okay. Budget let's say max $100.

Brand new my options are: G305 for $40, G502X Plus for $105, G502 (older model) for $90, G Pro X Superlight for $95

Currently I found the following deals in the used market: G Pro X Superlight for $40, G Pro Wireless (old version) for $45, G502X Lightspeed for $50 or G502 Lightspeed (old version) for $45.

In my opinion the best deals are the used ones. Even on sale Logitech can be a tad on the high side compared to other brands. What should I look out for when buying used? Except for obvious stuff like dirt and scratches.

I know Logitech has the infamous double click issue. Should I only buy used if it still has warranty?

Lastly. Like most people I'm right handed. I have always used ergonomic mice, no ambidextrous mice. Would it make sense to go for the G502 shape or a left/right handed shape like the G Pro or G305? What are the pros/cons?

Is the G703 an option? That's the only one I have experience with. Great performance you wont know it was wireless, and hardly need to charge it.

The shape of the mouse will be personal and the only way to really know is to hold it.

G502X Plus

The non-Plus is the same mouse minus the useless battery sucking RGB.

The G502X line has an optical switch now that should prevent the double clicking issue.

I have a G502X Lightspeed after owning probably 15 mice in the last 4-5 years and this one is staying on my desk.

You are mixing a lot of different options there. Do you need a light or heavy mouse? I would go with a new G Pro X Superlight since it's an option. It might be old, but it's still one of the best mice on the market.

Not really an option since I thought it was a older model, but it looks decent and simplistic. $90 new, but used they're cheap around the $30-40 mark, maybe I should look into it.

I actually like the RGB on the Plus, even though it might waste the battery.

As for the G502X non-Plus there is no good deal, but there is a used one for $60, even though the X Plus is $50. I think it doesn't make sense to spend more for the lesser model if it's used, right?

True, maybe I should drop the G305. It's about the G502 vs G Pro (X Superlight). I prefer medium to heavy mice.

The Superlight seems nice, especially with the upgraded skates and weight, but not often on sale or priced well used, because the 2 is already out.

I will consider the Superlight.

I would never buy a used mouse period, personally.

Makes sense though. It's something that's been used a lot. I never also want to buy heavily used stuff that's greasy/dirty/dusty, only if it's like new condition and I can tell from pictures then I will consider it.

I used to love the 502, but ever since picking up a G PRO I won't go back. To be fair though, as long as the mouse supports the "PowerPlay (edited)" mousepad, you never have to worry about wires or charging again and that's my favorite feature.

Edit: for work I use the MX master 3. Also great for ergonomics and I can plug it in after work once every few months to build the charge back up.

This stuff is confusing with all these marketing names but just for clarities sake, Lightspeed is their wireless tech. The charging mousepad is "PowerPlay".

That's right. I've had it for many years now and no complaints, so long that I forgot the actual name of it! 🫠

I have a G403 Hero from Logitech, it's been a step up in terms of accuracy compared to my older mouse which was one of the cheapest dirt mice on the market,

so I'd suggest something bit better like the G Pro or something, since mine is wearing and tearing a bit, it's got some age but I feel like a higher quality material would wear much slower, not that my mouse is about to fall apart, it's got some good amount of years ahead of it still most likely

but if I were to get another I'd get something better

ultimately just choose a mouse which you feel like will be more comfortable.

If there is anything I've learned in my mouse escapades is features, buttons and software mean nothing if its not comfortable.

I've come to prefer the somewhat larger bulkier style of the G502 line vs. the slimmer lower profile style of the G Pro's.

Its all preference, trouble is it takes time buying and trying different things to figure that out.

Those Powerplay charging mousepads are cool, but not worth the $100+ in my opinion. A cable will do for me. They are cool though.

Actually I could try the shapes if I get a cheap $20 G502 Hero and use a ambidextrous mouse that I already have and compare. Or see if there is a shop where I can try and feel all the mice.

I do have had mice with many buttons. I really liked to program macros to it, but these days the only buttons I need are back/forward buttons.

The best added feature I ever found on a mouse is an actual side scroll wheel built in, unlike the Logitech that have a left/right click scroll with the existing scroll button.

yeah smooth mouse way better than one with like little carved dents for better grip, you don't need dents for grip anyways if you hold the mouse right

I will consider the Superlight.

With a few tweaks, the G305 becomes quite a good mouse. Without them, it's bad by modern standards. The sensor is great, the shape is decent.

When you replace the original Alkaline AA battery with a Lithium AAA you lose 20g of weight, and if you game without the rear cover it completely stops being back-heavy. Add better skates (mouse feet) and perhaps some decent grip tapes, and it becomes better than a G Pro X (non-superlight, the first model).

I would discard the 502 because it weighs like two mice. For competitive eSports, especially shooters, a mouse should be light.

I've bought all but one of my G604's used. Never had an issue 'cept one I got for 12$ which needed to be re-paired with the receiver and that was mostly just an informative and zany 20 minutes of troubleshooting
