i7-14700 vs i7-14700K

If they're both $400 is there any reason to do the non-K over the K or vise versa if I don't plan on overclocking anyways?

The 14700k has slightly higher boost clock from factory so it IS faster but not by much.

If they are the same, get the K 🙂 Check the KF model, it might be cheaper!  Its the same as the K but without integrated graphics.

Nope. Resale value alone makes K a better option if they cost the same.

Personally I regret getting an F model as having that iGPU is useful for troubleshooting.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

Absolutely.  I had a 9900KF and when I had to RMA my MSI 2080 Ventus I had no computer for 3 weeks.

Some people find that saving 20-30 bucks by going with an F model can be beneficial,  especially on lower end CPU's / Budget.

Over all the years for my build, ive always gone with the K so i get a igpu & so i could overclock them. Also it's great to have that igpu just in case a gpu plays up at least i had something to work with.

So yeah i also will say get the K. For my self the cheapest K version of the series (gen) generation, Is what i tend to get.

& im happy that way. I don't need top of the line just for watching movies listening to tunes, youtube, & gaming so it works out rather really well for me.

As you never know later on down the road you might want to go hmm this overclocking looks simple enough so yeah ill give it a go like i did years back. But once you start over clocking you don't stop lol. I always tend to try to push it harder for the glory. The learning curve does do your head in when you start out tho do the basics 1st learn them. Watch the vids. Anyway get the K version of the Cpu. It'll be good to know that you can play around with it & have that over clocking ability as well when games tend to push things more & when you might want to do something that will push things to the limit more like editing or programing or stuff like workloads so on.

Case: | TT Core x71 | Mobo: | Gigabyte Aorus Elite DDR4 | Cpu: 13600K | 1.300V | P-Core 5.6GHZ | E-Core 3.9GHZ | Cpu Block: EK Quantum Velocity2 | Ram: Team T-Force Vulcan Z 4x8GB 3200MHz DDR4 | Gpu: Gigabyte GTX G1 970 Bios Hacked 1.275V | Gpu Block: EK | Cooling: Custom Loop | Rads: 4 | PSU: Corsair RM 1000w

There's been a few times I got the K SKU as it had a slightly faster iGPU than the none-K.  Not sure that still applies today.

I am a home-lab type person though who will re-purpose old hardware, so it makes sense to at least have an iGPU so that I can use it for something else later on that might not need a dGPU.  Its a huge waste of power having a dGPU idling for example if its just going to be a Linux server.
