advice on 3K build

Budget (including currency): $3000

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Interior design programs (Sketchup / vray  and light AutoCAD / Adobe Suite.  4K 60hz gaming with some futureproofing.

 

I'm looking to do a build for a friend who works in interior design and is also an avid gamer. What do you think of this build?

Budget was around 3K. A few questions:

  1. 4090 seems like the best bang for the buck GPU for the high end he wants. I could spec down to 4080, but 4090 seems like a beast.
  2. Thoughts on a windows license?

looks good! you could save a bit and go 4080 super but there's no need if you have the budget set aside for a 4090

Is my assessment of the 4090 still correct? back when I built my PC (basically this build) the thought was that for the money the 4090 was the best "value" and to go with it if you could swing it.

 

Still good on CPU choice etc. That is the best gaming CPU from AMD?

umm, best value? probably not... best performance! of course it is! the problem is that in 4 months or so, there will be a 5090, and the 5070 ti super will likely lay waste on this gens 4090, so might be worth waiting and buying a 5080, maybe pick up a 6800 for now and sell it on fb marketplace in a few months, or if you dont give a fuck buy a 4090 now and rock it. that is the best gaming cpu period, from both intel and amd

Best GPU around until 5000 series launch, not sure how good the software you use support AMD GPUs but those are potentially a option? Anyhow looks solid tough I would look up a tier list for the PSU just in case.

It is more of a reliability check up for the PSU not to familiar with that specific model, would be a shame if the 4090 had a meltdown due to PSU getting overloaded or something...
