Windows Blue Screen advice.

Go to solution Solved by Aksplinter,

Heya guys well ive tried figuring out how to get memtest to work as in what to download etc but couldnt figure it out lol but anyways after updating my windows and reseatting my ram which a friend suggested the pc has ran fine for the last few days.  I had it on yesterday for 12+ hours doing differnt things from work to gaming.  And so far no Blue screens which hopefully is good lol.  I will keep an eye on it to see if it happens anymore if so i will try something else lol.  Thanks for all your help guys really appreciate it :)

Heya guys hope someone can help me out.  I built my own gaming system back in 2012 and it has been running fine since.  But recently during gaming and just general use, it has been crashing  and showing the dreaded  Blue screen lol the message is Bad_pool caller followed by a memory dump and a restart back to the desktop.

I know this probably isn't a great description but I have tried the Microsoft website and went back to a restore point , uninstalled any new software and drivers I have put in the last few weeks but still it keeps happening.

Its probably worth mentioning I am Running windows 7 64bit if you need to know anymore Specs just ask :)

Thanks in advance lol

I am new to this whole forum thing lol so if I have left anything out sorry guys :P lol

Well then, it might be a hardware issue.  Try run a memory test and stress test your processor for about 3 hours and see what happens.

Welcome to the forum

If you could upload the dumpfile (located in C:/Windows/minidump), that would help troubleshooting the problem.

It does sound like a hardware issue, so I would recommend running 4-6 passes of Memtest86+.

Welcome to the forum.

I would suggest to get into safe mode upon boot up. This is done by mashing F8 (mostly) during the boot.
Then you select Safe mode with networking. This way you have internet while in safe mode.

Then download BlueScreenView. The download links are way down here in the middle of the screen.

This program will log the dump file and give you a pretty allright summary what is causing the blue screen.
This way people are able to help you a lot better.

As well a nice program to download is Speccy (free version is fine).  This is a simple way to show us your system

The only thing it won't show is your power supply.

If you hit publish snapshot you get a nice link. Like this, if you copy it here we get to see your whole system.

As for the actual problem, I honestly don't know to much about blue screens. So I can't help to much here.
