Posted May 3 Hello dear PC experts, I'm upgrading my computer today and I'm installing my current SSD which currently has Windows installed as main storage on my new build. But now the question is what happens to the old Windows files? Can someone explain the whole process to me? I installed Win 11 on a USB to then install it on the new build but what happens then and what happens to the old Windows files on the SSD from my previous PC? Thank you for info! They stay there, do you need to access them? Do you need any data on the drive? That's excatly the answer I was looking for so once I boot from the USB I installed the Win 11 media on and choose the SSD to install Win 11 on all the other stuff gets wiped correct?
