AMD A10 6800K

Hi there!

I currently have an AMD A10-6800k APU and running 8 GB 2133 MHz of G Skill Sniper. I was wondering if the the video card XFX 7870 Core 2GB edition will benefit my rig at all? Or should i just stick to the integrated graphics? I found the card online for $120 used. So I am debating if i should get it for my rig. Will it make a difference or is the price for the card not worth for my rig? Feel free to ask for more questions and looking for your feedbacks in all ways.

Thanks!

If you're buying it for the original price, then no, but $120 is a great deal and won't be too much to lose if it breaks. I would definitely buy it. Make sure your PSU has enough wattage though.

Yes, the 7870 is a great choice and will be a lot faster than the integrated GPU in your APU. You should get it, $120 is a great deal!

I highly recommend getting the 7870. I would get it if it was on eBay right now.  ;)

:) thanks and prior to this, i did some research and i see that the 7750 is the best card that will "integrate" with my APU. How will that setup be compared to the 7870 with my APU. Any thoughts on that vs the 7870?

It will make a huge difference.

For 20 bucks less, I was thinking about getting the XFX 7750 brand new. I did some quick research and see that the 7750 can "integrate" with my onboard graphics. Any thoughts on that? Will that setup be the 7870? Sorry I'm quite new to the PC world lol

7870 is great, it can run games like Battlefield 4 on high settings absolutely flawlessly.

It can crossfire with your CPU allowing both the CPU's graphics and the 7750 to work together. ;o

The HD 7870 will be a huge improvement for gaming. I have the A10-6800k and a HD 5870 paired together (HD 5870 equals roughly a HD 7850). The only bottlenecks I get is in poorly threaded games. I believe in BF3 single player I was getting a steady 90 FPS @ 1600x900 I believe on high preset. So you should be able to run games like BF4 @ 1080p on high settings with that setup no problem.

Not worth it, the single HD 7870 will blow the dual graphics setup away big time.

Thanks! With that said. Should i settle down for the  7750 brand new on amazon for 100 bucks or should i settle down with the used 7870? How big of a difference will the crossfire be compared the 7870?

Even if you cannot snag it, don't go for the HD 7750 as a backup plan. You would be better off surfing eBay for another HD 7850/7870 to bid on. The HD 7750 in dual graphics with a A10-6800k can run games fairly well, but it cannot rip through games like a mid grade discrete GPU can.

The 6800k running with the 7750 in dual graphics is pretty much the same as a single 7750 on its own since the gpu has to slow down to match the apu in hybrid cf. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/dual-graphics-crossfire-benchmark,3583-7.html

The 7870 is easily more than twice as powerful as the 7750.
