Will my motherboard disable SATA ports, and is the 980 pro 2tb still problematic?

I'm looking at getting a 980 Pro 2tb, but I'm concerned my motherboard will disable SATA ports. I can't find anything in the manual (Linked below) that'd suggest it would, but I know that some motherboards disable SATA ports when using both m.2 slots. I already have a 970 2tb in my main m.2 slot, so the 980 pro 2tb m.2 2280 is going to go into the second slot.

So my questions:

 

1. Will putting a second m.2 drive onto my motherboard disable any SATA ports or anything else?

2. Is the 980 Pro 2tb still problematic? Did the firmware for sure fix things?

the firmware long-since fixed the 980 pro.

 

If the manual doesn't mention disabling sata, then it most likely won't.

 

Are you actually using all your sata ports anyways?

Thanks, I kind of figured those were the cases but I like being careful. And yeah, I'm using all my SATA ports

Also may as well get 990 Pro now as it's been out for a while at around same price.
