Would you ever consider cutting a pattern into the PVC to let some of the copper show through?

Yes, I thought about applying it more than once, but for this project I thought it would spoil its elegance.

 

It would be good to have a pattern and make it that way, but it would have to be seen in another part of the project, which I was not ready to apply now.
