If there a pcie adapter for a 2.5” ssd that doesn’t require a data cable since there isn’t any on this server.

What type of 2.5in ssd? There should be lots of adapters for u.2 or pcie 2.5 in drives for cheap. I'm guessing your front bays are full? You can easily put 2.5in drives in the 3.5in bays.
