Multi-use PC Upgrade in 2024?

Go to solution Solved by brob,

Upgrade the CPU, 8 concurrent threads is not really enough.

Depending on when you got the Galahad 360 AIO, you may need to get its LGA 1700 mounting kit.

I’m looking to upgrade either my CPU (Intel i7-9700K) and motherboard or my GPU (MSI RTX 3060 Gaming X Trio) for an entirely optional performance boost in all categories. They all run pretty well (at 2k/144fps at medium-high settings) but VrChat really struggles keeping up and typically hovers around 60fps at low settings, which can be a real pain in VR, plus I have to close pretty much all background apps (Discord, Twitch, Music) if I want to keep my fps while playing typical games. It would just be really nice to have a bigger processing budget.

I’ve been out of the PC Build game for a couple of years now after the Great GPU Drought of 2020 and don’t really know what parts I can rely on and what I should avoid. Notably, I am near the Holy Land (MicroCenter), so I should be able to receive the Lord’s Blessing (Deals) there.

Thanks for any and all recommendations!

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
