So on ebay there have been a number of "Samsung" panels cropping up on ebay from south korea, with the same slogans like "Pixel Perfect" as the 1440p panels they put together.

On closer inspection they look like they have a different case to true samsung U28D590D's so they are probably A-/B+ panels from samsung fitted with homemade cases.

Has anyone bought one yet? Or know of a site that has reviewed one for quality of construction etc.

I'm interested as it brings the cost down to about $650 AU for what looks like an almost identical product.

I think asus might be very competitive since they not only have the PQ321Q which is the pro grade 4K monitor. But they have their upcoming PBXXXQ launching very soon.

I would go with quality monitor with all the nicer features.

Those 1440p monitors had LCD bleeding issues which you had to buy the "Pixel perfect" model of it to get less colour inaccuracy but they did cost a fair bit more then the regular cheapo korean monitors. However the ones like the 300 Leonidas were pretty expensive but less then the PB278Q.
