Hello everyone,

DIdn't see a forum specifically for Overclocking, so hopefully it can go here. (I'm new to overclocking btw)

The problem is that i can't seem to overclock my cpu to above 4.2 Ghz. Cooling isn't the issue as during benchmark tests at 4.2. the temps don't go above 55C or so. the current cpu core voltage is 1.24 volts

Specs:
Cpu: Intel i-5 4670K

MOBO: MSI Z87 gaming gd-65

memory 2x 4GB corsair 1866 mhz 1.65 volts (dimm slots 2 &4)

Graphics: 780TI

EVGA 1000W PSU

Arctic cooler i30 CPU cooler

Let me know if you need any more details there.

Id like to be able to take it to 4,4Ghz if possible but although it will run at 4.4. if i start a benchmark test, it crashes and reboots.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Bump the voltage up, but keep it at or under 1.3v. Then see how far you can push it.

Raise the voltage a bit but try to keep it under 1.3V and keep your temperatures within safe limits. Also some Haswell CPU's just don't want to overclock very high no matter how much voltage you throw at them.

My Current Build:

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

you can post this kind of stuff in the CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory section next time.

you also might have a bad chip, my 4670k needs 1.35V for 4.4GHz. What is your ring bus set to? make sure you drop it to x34 to increase stability.

And i don't know where to check if LLC is enabled or disabled

Its enabled by default or it should be. The thing is that it should have several settings like Auto and up. That makes sure that volts don't change during stress. Volts dropping in middle of stress would result as fail. It seems that 4.4Ghz is too high for your cpu. Try lowering multiplier and try again. Like said, Haswell ones aren't constantly good at oc.

I would recommend that you tell us exactly what method you are OCing with, either manual direct voltage, manual offset voltage or Auto voltage. Then we could further help you.

I would recommend manual offset voltage for OCing as it provides the best temperatures while OCing.

Increased the voltage to 1.295Volts and set to 4.4.Ghz but it crashed after 20 seconds of benchmark test. ringbus is 100Mhz according to OCCT And i don't know where to check if LLC is enabled or disabled

I would suggest you start with checking out the Haswell OC guide.
