Bridged and Unbridged ports to one switch?

Thank you for that info.
However, as I mentioned before I'm a bit of a novice on this.
I'm not entirely sure as to the "on 192.168.1.0/24" and "on 192.168.2.0/24" part.
I tried to access 192.168.1.254, 192.168.2.254, 192.168.1.0/24 and 192.168.2.0/24 and what I get is "This site can't be reached" for each one.

What  is the IP of your modem? What are the two subnets your using?

The 192.168.1.0/24 is the subnet here.

I'm wondering what would happen if I connected the Bridged LAN port and the Unbridged LAN port from the same Modem/Router to the same switch.
This is my scenarion:
Modem/Router: 4 LAN ports, LAN Port 1 is Bridged, LAN Ports 2-4 or not.
Port 1 is plugged into another router which I use as my main router, then LAN Port 1 from that plugged into a switch

What would happen if I also plugged, say LAN Port 2 (Unbridged) from the Modem/Router into the same switch that I have the Bridged LAN Port 1 from the Modem/Router.
The swtich is a Cisco WS-C3560X-48P managed swtich which I got given to me.  Yes I know, complete overkill for a home system but hey, if it's free...
Main router is an ASUS RT-AC68U.
Modem/Router is a Telus T3200M.

The main reason I am thinking about this is that if I need to log into the admin portal of the Modem without switching cables just to connect to the modem.

Btw, I am a complete novice and only have very basic (if any) networking knowledge.

On the other hand... you have different fingers.

You can log into the admin portal of the ISP modem with its IP, you don't need to have a direct connections. Setting up a second cables here doesn't make sense.

I'm not sure how to get there.
I cannot see the Modem/Router.  If I try to use the default IP (192.168.1.254), it doesn't work as my ASUS Router is using a different internal IP set.

Do you mean you don't know the router's IP?

Open command prompt and type ipconfig

Press enter and look for "Default Gateway".

I believe OP is saying they have their router on a different subnet (not 192.168.1.x/24) which would explain why they cannot access the ISP's device which is on 192.168.1.x since that device doesn't have a route back to their subnet. But that wouldn't make much since as no traffic would make it back then. Unless they changed the modem IP and it's all on the same subnet?

Would be good to have clarity though.

I changed the internal IP on my ASUS router from the default 192.168.1.* to 192.168.2.*
If I do the IPCONFIG command, it says my Default Gateway is 192.168.2.1 and that just takes me to the login page of the ASUS router, not the Modem

You should be able to still reach the modem. Lets say if the modem is 192.168.1.254 on 192.168.1.0/24, and your asus network is 192.168.2.254 on 192.168.2.0/24, then you can still access the modem at 192.168.1.254.

What  is the IP of your modem? What are the two subnets your using?

The 192.168.1.0/24 is the subnet here.

Not sure if this is correct:
Modem IP, if I connect direct to it via one of the Unbridged ports it's 192.168.1.254 (Otherwise I cannot see it when connected through my ASUS router)
Subnets: If I do IPCONFIG it says Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 but when I look at the info from the ASUS router WAN page, it says 255.255.252.0
The ASUS router is set to IP 192.168.2.1 and the Modem/Router is factory default 192.168.1.254

so you can access the modem via 192.168.1.254 through the asus router when its not in bridge mode?

The asus router saying 255.255.252.0 here seems wrong and might be some of the issue.

the only way right now for me to access the Modem's admin is by bypassing my ASUS router and connecting my computer direct to the Modem via one of the unbridged ports.
As for the router subnet, I am using a ASUS RT-AC68U, where do I go to change that Subnet so it is the same as the other?

Actually I think I found it on the LAN page but it already says 255.255.255.0, so I'm not sure as to why the Subnet Mask shows as 255.255.252.0

Can you show a screen shot of where it shows 252?

It seems like its hiding the web page on the bridged port.

Can you turn off bridged more and setup the default server mode? This should work simmilar where all the ports are passed to the ASUS router, but you can still access the modem page from its IP.

I took a look at the WAN Subnet Mask that the Modem itself shows and it also shows 255.255.252.0, even though in the LAN IP settings the Modem Subnet Mask is set to 255.255.255.0
Should I manually change the LAN Subnet to 255.255.252.0 ?
