Hey guys, so my computer was behaving strangely in the near past, it was turning on and then off instantly, but after 2 or 3 restarts it would just start up normally. But when i came back home yesterday (was away for 3 days) the computer won`t turn on no matter what...

It justs fires up and then immediatly shuts down, so i did my research and tried to solve it but with no succes.. now i need some help cause im out of options =/

So what I already did:

1- Removed everything from the case to check for shorts

2- Checked the psu doing the paperclip trick and checked it with a multimeter

3- tried booting with nothing on but the CPU and 1 ram stick

4- did the CMOS clearing thing

And my computer configuration:

intel i5 2500k

2x 4gb 1333mhz kingston ram

250gb samsung 840 ssd

asus p8p67-pro rev3.0 mobo

ocz fatal1ty 550w power supply

msi GeForce GTX460 Hawk

Do you have a motherboard speaker handy? listening to the beep codes might help diagnose the issue

Did you try boot with just CPU and nothing else? Try different video card, or onboard?

Honestly, sounds like either a PSU problem or a motherboard issue. The old 4pin PSU plug in nice and tight?

@james, i dont have a speaker here.. i could use a headphone maybe to hear the beeps but i dont think there is time for them .. it just shuts off immeadiatly after turning on..

@whaler, well i did with just a stick of ram and the cpu, but still it just goes off soon after, the 4-pin is secure..

maybe i will just go to my local shop and let them do some testing..  honestly i dont think there is anything else i can do.. and there is no mistery on these things..

well, thanks for the fast response guys.. wish me luck
