Headset/ general audio help

Hey guys i've been looking into getting a premium headset and like sound card in the distant future and i was wondering what some of the best choices were without having to get like mix amps etc.

Is the ModMic an option, or do you really want an integrated mic? All the headsets by audio companies are around the $300ish mark, but for $4-500 you're looking at HD600 or K712

Take the HE400 in your list of option. Best sounding $300 headphone I've ever heard. Depending on your onboard, it could drive the HE400 with no problems (newer onboard got quite some juice). If you can push the limit to $600, maybe consider HE500 too. Lays here got one, try and ask him about the HE500....

Well at that price range most things will need an amp and sound cards are not worth the money. But with CHC Silverados on sale for $49 might as well just get those and save the rest of your money. They won't need an amp.

Regardless of what the impedance is of what you choose, with that motherboard using an external DAC/amp (or god forbid, sound card) is not optional. 

 

If you really don't want to, don't bother with 4-500$ headphones. Stay sub 100$.

Oh... I didn't even see his board. Perhaps spending some money to upgrade your motherboard/cpu would be a good idea.
