What exactly are you doing? If you are gaming get a 7800x3D, If you are doing work  get a 7950x. Do not get the 7950x3D as its known to have issues getting it to work properly, if you dont know what you are doing its not the route to go.

If you are doing work, get a 4080 Super over the 7900xtx, if you are gaming its a toss up between the two, if you want ray tracing go Nvidia, since that 7900XTX you chose is 180$ over a MSI Gaming TRIO (get the MSI one) as that asus one doesnt perform any better then it.

I am only going to game, so if I understood correctly a 7800x3d would be better, noted.

for gaming, and some general way of doing things I could probably shave off 500$ worth of cost,

even more under certain conditions

it isn't that much of a concern my headphones surpress well, tho I would be happy if it wouldn't be like my current pc where you can hear the fans ramp up extremely when doing something.

Ah ok.

Tbh your friends build is good but super innefecient. You could get a super duper aio (if you want) for the price of the air cooler he had. The mobo was Asus rog so looks over performance, and there were a couple of other odd things.

@Why_Me how would you rate these 2 builds?

"pushing budget to limit in reasonable areas" build:

PCPartPicker Part List

it's like comparing Lambo to Bugatti,

Samsung is maybe bit faster, but it's not really going to matter, also both have 4096 MB of cache,

while Acer somehow has more endurance:

2x4TB SSD is a bit much imo. With that said the Acer SSD is a lot better deal atm than the Samsungs. I would go with 1x1TB Acer + 1x4TB Acer. In fact I'm going to change to that on my build. 64GB for a gaming build doesn't make a lot of sense imo.

The Gigabyte Eagle is fine if you plan on using wifi otherwise the LAN is nothing to write home about.

wtf 1GB? so that's why the other one is 30$ more, interesting...

also depends? the OP sounds like a person who doesn't want to upgrade for as long as possible (who would apart from PC enthusiasts that put their cases on table and shove inside it more lights than there are in Las Vegas?), wouldn't 64GB of ram and 2x4GB be more reasonable considering that possibility?

Agreed ... I don't understand the RGB aspect of the OP's build if it's going to be underneath a desk. The 48GB (2x24GB) RAM sets were supposed to be for future proofing but the manufactures dropped the ball. Those sets are priced about the same as the 64GB sets.

OP's build is made by a friend, perhaps their friend is more PC enthusiastic than them, since it includes Noctua fans, which is quite unnecessary if you get a 3 fan GPU and an AM5 CPU, which goes fine with a nice case that has pre-installed fans, the case in the original build probably had pre-installed fans too maybe

I think 24GB sticks are stupid for the sole reason that it confuses people, and that it destroys the natural flow of memory size scaling perception
