Both are good, however I wouldn't buy an Asus DirectCU2 GTX 780, because of the horrible sagging issues. The reference one is like any other GTX 780 so it doesn't matter at all. The MSI Twin Frozr is a very good cooler, but I personally don't like the fact that it lacks a backplate. Anyway, that's just me.

Tie the board to the optical bays using paracord, route PCIe power above the card, prop the card up...done.

Reference design looks pretty cool still. If you want a third-party solution I'd go with the asus directcu2 or twin frozr 4 edition.

Asus, I love their design and their cards generally run the quietest and coolest. Presuming the design is similar enough to the 760 DCUII.

I have the EVGA GTX 780 Classified and I'm pretty sure it's easily the best 780 out there. The dual bios is a must-have feature pretty much.

This.

I have 2 of them in my gaming rig because the colours match my system perfectly

Corsair C70 Black Windowed | Asus Sabertooth Z87 | i7 4770k | Corsair H100i | Corsair Dominator Platinum 4x4GB 1866Mhz | SLI GTX 780 Classified | Corsair AX860 | Samsung EVO 250GB SSD | 2x2TB WD Green

Corsair 350D Windowed | Asus Gryphon Z87 | i5 4670k | Corsair H75 | Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 2x4GB 1600Mhz | Corsair RM550 | Samsung EVO 250GB SSD | 4TB WD Green.

Bitfenix Phenom ITX White | Asus Z97i-Plus | Pentium G3258 | Noctua NH-L9i | Kingston HyperX Fury White 2x4GB 1866Mhz | Silverstone Strider 550 | Crucial M.2 120GB SSD | 4x5TB WD Red. (work in progress)

i would say asus does look better, and my 680's are beasts.

However giving my experience with the costumer support and repair service i have my doubts.

I7 3930K @4.4 GHz  /  Asus rampage 4 formula  / 4x 8gb kingston hyperx blue low profile / gtx 980  / 2x ssd 500gb samsung 840 / 500gb 840evo ssd   /  500 GB WD blue /  windows 7 ultimate

Classified really is probably the best 780.

But if you need dual bios there is a dualbios ACX out there. the classified is huge

Classifieds are only better when you're overvolting them that will require watercooling. Google gpu-z asic quality and read it.

My DC2's Ive owned before had both 85% asic quality and they did 1250MHz on the stock vcore which was 1.15V or 1300MHz on 1.20V. Now I have 2 reference 780's instead (dont ask me why I swapped them) have 65% and they are struggling to do 1200MHz. Most DC2's Ive seen were around 75-85% and most classifieds were around 65-70%.

To give you somewhat an idea how it scales:

DC2 locked 85% asic: 1300MHz @ 1.20V

Classified 65% asic: ~1200MHz @ 1.21V

DC2: 1400MHz @ 1.45V

Classified: 1450MHz @ 1.40V

Basically if youre sticking to aircooling avoid classifieds, if you want to overvolt them and obviously watercool it classifieds are better.

+1

I didn't mention this, but some people buy Classified because they think it's higher binned. The reality is that EVGA takes GK110s that are no higher binned than their DCII and TF4 counterparts.

The real deal is the Kingpin cards; those ones are specially binned. Not that anyone will really buy that though...it's an extremely niche product.
