Posted May 23, 2014 It is easy and cheap to terminate an ethernet cable yourself with the use of an RJ-45 crimping tool, I would just cut it off and re terminate. http://www.kevindanenberg.com/blog/2007/10/how-to-repair-an-ethernet-cable/
 Posted May 23, 2014 I have like 1 or 2 that still have the clip on both ends out of like 20 Ethernet cables in my house lol u would think they would have made something more durable by now. Posted May 23, 2014 Yeah, it would be annoying for most cables, but sticking a connector on an Ethernet cable isn't a trouble. My Dad buys his ethernet cable in reels of like 10/15/20 meters, and then just cuts how much he wants and sticks a connector on each end. I used to have some metal clip ones, pain in the goddamn ass. Too tight and sharp as all hell. Some lunatic must have designed those. But yeah, ethernet cables is one of those things that everyone seems to make as cheap as possible OR they go full bloody milspec. Posted May 24, 2014 I broke my clip last year, for 9 times out of 10 it was fine, just some times I had to remove and put back but it was fine. Its now replaced. on the other hand, the Ethernet cable clip for my Xbox 360 is stuck in it and I can remove it but then again I don't use the Xbox 360 anymore, not even setup in about 4 months now. Posted May 24, 2014 Give it to someone with children that like pulling on things, and/or haven't mastered the "toe flip" Fixing them is no big deal. just make sure the order of coloured wires is the same on both ends before you re-crimp an end on.
