Is the AMD Ryzen™ 7 3700X still a good processor for Gaming and what price would you expect to pay on buying one?

depending on the refresh rate you're targeting, but i'd say 100-120 euro is a reasonable price for it

id expect the same 70-90$ a used 5600(x) goes for

its still decent but if you just wanna game the aformentioned used 5600(x) will be a much better buy, if you want he best of both worlds used 5700x/5800x are 120-150$

also for am4 cpus anything that isnt a 5700x3d is a stupid buy if you are buying new due to used ryzens being cheaper and having basically no risk since cpus dont up and die on you, just have to check for physical damage and you are good

i assume you already have an am4 board but if you dont then id also reccomend used ~50$ midranger b3/450 like the gaming plus/tomahawk since a new b550 nullifies the benifit of am4 being dirt cheap used boards/cpus and youd be better off with a new b660/760/z690 + 12600k(f) which will obliterate a new 5700x + b550 combo, but if you can find a half decent (not pos tier like hdv or pro m2 but something like a pro4) new b450 under the 70$ mark or a b550 under the 80$ mark thatd be an even better buy cause you wouldnt have to bother with checking for bios updates and you also have a warranty which is pretty useful on a pretty failiure prone part

It will be faster than Ryzen 5 5600 in multi-threaded but slower in single-threaded performance so at most it should cost the same as a new Ryzen 5 5600 (new vs new) ideally between Ryzen 5 5500 and 5600 price since it's an older CPU now.

For used 3700X I wouldn't pay more than for a new Ryzen 5 5500.

I'd pay no more than $75 for used. For gaming especially GPU light titles like Valorant, CS2, LoL, Apex Legends and else it's far too slow.

Actually zen 3 was such a big leap that a ryzen 5600x basically performs the same as a 3700x in multicore
