The Finals having too high requirements?

dhruv_k_1307

I have pc with an i5-7500 and RX 6400 and 16 gb ddr4 ram. Still I am unable to run The Finals at good frame rate.It is either very low graphics but good fps with good frame time or medium graphics with very stuttery 60 fps .Please help me in optimising it

I would say that's about what you can expect with a 7500 and RX 6400...

I agree, both components fall below their minimum recommended specs for 1080p 60fps

System specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D [-30 PBO all core]

GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT NITRO+ [1050mV, 2.8GHz core, 2.6Ghz mem]

Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 32GB 6000MHz CL32 DDR5

Storage: 2TB SN850X, 1TB SN850 w/ heatsink, 500GB P5 Plus (OS Storage)

Case: 5000D AIRFLOW

Cooler: Thermalright Frost Commander 140

PSU: Corsair RM850e

Your PC is below both the CPU and GPU minimum requirements according to the makers of The Finals - not massively below the requirements, just barely, but it still means that you're going to be getting a compromised experience.

If you want an optimal balance, a good place to start in any game is with minimum settings and then turning up the textures until you run out of VRAM. This is because textures tend to offer a big visual upgrade while using minimal resources.

But, with that said, the RX 6400 really needs to stay below the VRAM requirements when using a PCIe Gen 3 connection in order to reduce the amount of information that is sent over the minimal PCIe x4 bus width. So you'll want to be very conservative with how much you push up textures to stay well below 4GB of VRAM usage.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 10 or later 64-bit (latest update)
Processor: Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen R5 1600 processor
Memory: 12 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 580
DirectX: Version 12

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 10 or later 64-bit (latest update)
Processor: Intel Core i5-9600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
DirectX: Version 12

The RX 6400 is below the minimum and recommended specs for The FInals. The Finals lists an RX 580/1050Ti as minimum and 5700XT/RTX2070 or above as recommended. The RX 6400 performs worse than the cards listed as the minimum.

The i5 7500 will perform basically the same as the i5 6600k which is the minimum requirement listed for CPUs. Your performance issues are likely mostly GPU related.

RX 6400 is a bad choice with your system. The RX 6400 graphics card has PCIe 4.0 x4 lanes. Your system only supports PCIe 3.0 which halves the already limited bandwidth available to the card. Depending on the game you'll see a 10-30% reduction in performance due to using it with a PCIe 3.0 system.

Find games to play that have lower system requirements, play on lower settings (low resolution too), or buy a different graphics card. Second hand RX 580 8GB or GTX 1060 6GB can usually be bought for less than the cost of an RX 6400.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

The 7500 is bad, but the 6400 is real crap, noone should b uy that (and expect "gaming" on it), get a better GPU

Honestly you could follow a tutorial to replace nvidia dlss with fsr 2/3.0 in the finals and just use that. Or use intel xess but xess is kinda dogwater compared to others.

Yeah that's even crappier but it's an office PC with no "gaming" GPU

i assume the 6400 is due to this pc being sff? if it isnt an sff then yea you got ripped off on a pile of shit gpu where you could have bought a used 5700xt that performs better than a 1080

best you can do here is to overclock that rx 6400 and enable fsr or whatever upscaling is available

The RX 6400 is locked down for overclocking, so that's a dead end.

cant even adjust the clocks?

damn thats an awful gpu

oh well just hope upscaling like fsr will do a good enough job which it should and be done with it till you revamp your system to something that isnt an sff prebuilt, everything except storage can be written off since its all proprietary garbage and the gpu is crap so thats an obvious upgrade

used zen2 like the 3600 go for ~50$ with the accompanying used b3/450s also around 50$ if not less if we are looking at more budget options

I was on a budget and found a good deal on it. And my pc supports a single slot card and my psu won’t be able to handle any another cards

It does perform well on other games on high settings so it does having “gaming” capabilities

no, this is how u optimize it.  you're below specs so low settings ok framerates is what you can expect.  should be grateful it runs/is playable at all IMHO.

yes, sure does, i get you want more but there's no other way than throwing more money at it or be content with what yiu have, there's no magic sauce to make a mid low end machine run at top tier stats, if there was everyone would be doing it lol.
