Hell Divers 2 question

Donut417

How well do you think I could run the game at 1440p low settings on this hardware? Or could I push it to medium?

The game doesn't like AMD graphics cards very much. I run 1440p medium-high with my RX 6900 XT and get varying frame rates from the 60's up to 90 or so.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

My monitor is only a 60hz display. I just know the RX5700 is getting old at this point, and many games i have now dip below 60 FPS. My friend is pushing me to get this game. I heard they got it running on the Steam Deck.

I see you have an ultrawide monitor. By 1440p do you mean 3440 x 1440 ( Your monitor ) or standard 1440p - 2560 × 1440?

If you buy it through Steam you can try it and if doesn't work well enough request a refund:
- if you play it for less than 2 hours

- and it has been less than 2 weeks since you purchased it

The refund request will be auto-granted, no questions asked.

* You can request a refund even if you are outside of those 2 hours & more than 14 days... but no guarantees then.

The issue is we have data caps on our internet. So Its kinda like I want to be sure it will work good enough because its a large download. I dont like to burn data if I dont have to.

Yes its an ultrawide. I actually run dual utrawides the one I use for gaming is 1440p.

3440 x 1440 ultrawide is a lot more pixels than normal 1440p that is 2560 × 1440 pixels.

Running ultrawide requires a lot more GPU power than standard 1440p. Remember to take this into account.

Then the game wont run or what? Thats what Im trying to figure out. If I cant run the game at 1440p at low then I might not pick up the game.

At the time I upgraded to this monitor I wasnt really doing any gaming. My friend started getting me back in to it when I played with him on Sunday's. Outside of Sunday's I dont really game. 99.8% of the time Im surfing the net or watching media.  So I really dont feel like investing in to a gaming PC at this time. Honestly I might just switch to a Steam Deck full time.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

It's closer to 4K resolution than 2560x1440 (normal 1440). Pretty much add 20% to FPS from 4K to get UW 3440x1440.

I would be very surprised if you got 60fps at low settings on 1440p ultrawide.

Do you use windows to monitor data usage? The built in tool is decent, although I don’t use it

Yeah I’d say 1440p ultra wide is just as intense as normal 4k

Comcast has a meter on their site, though it takes 24 hours for it to update. My router also can keep track of total data usage as well as per device data usage. But my dad sits in front of the TV 16 hours a day and streams. My mom also likes to stream. In the winter time theres not much to do here. We have come close to the cap on a few occasions. My folks pay for the internet, so I try my damnest to not incur any overage charges.
