Is it fine to install windows first and then update the BIOS?

Wondering whether its alright to install windows first and then update bios from the pc itself. Currently have windows 11 on my usb so don't really want to delete it and install bios on it before installing the OS.

You can always add a folder for the bios file.  Doesn't have to be a pure drive for either.

If your motherboards existing BIOS doesn't support the CPU you inserted you need to install the BIOS first, otherwise it should be fine.

 

You probably will get a warning about resetting the TPM but so long as Windows wasn't installed with Bitlocker enabled (I believe only on Windows Pro) then that doesn't matter.

BIOS is your motherboards firmware. It isn't part of Windows nor does it install as piece of Windows, unlike drivers for your GPU for example. It might show your motherboard as new component and prompt for re-activation in Windows. But other than that, the two aren't connected.
