Help with building a nas

Hello every one just wat to know how I go about storage all my past father photo video and documents I have look in to nas but need advice I'm also on a budget please help

How tight was your budget? I made a budget NAS utilizing a used commercial PC from HP, marketed as EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF, with all components except hard drives cost under 100 US dollars. Paired with dual-core Pentium G4600 and 8 GB of RAM, it have so far done pretty well in basic storage and a few additional services.

Also, some used pre-built models of NAS from QNAP or Terramaster can be considered. Just be aware that cheaper ones (usually with ARM processors powered) may perform poorly other than being a basic storage server.😃

It to keep pic video and documents save for future and to pass to next family member I was look in to the 

ORICO 2 Bay USB 3.0 to SATA 3.5 inch External Hard Drive
