File Backups

Go to solution Solved by Electronics Wizardy,

If you want to keep everything I'd probably keep the same install and move it to the new system, and only reinstall if needed.

Otherwise, its not typically easy to keep those configs. I'd use browsers that sync to the cloud or you can export this data. You can't just copy progrm files to  new system as it depends on the registry and other librarys.

I need to reinstall Windows as I am upgrading my pc (new mobo/cpu/ram). What folders/files do I need to back up to keep things like my web browsers (and my saved passwords) and my installed apps? I imagine I can just copy the programfiles folders? Obviously I will download my documents and downloads folder as well, but are there any others I need to take a backup of? Thanks.

Console.WriteLine("Hello World!");

I use Opera GX, that syncs to the cloud, so that should be fine. Thanks for the heads up about the program files, never knew that.
