bios booting on restart and not windows

when i shut down my pc or reset it always puts me in bios. how do i fix it.  i have a asus motherboard

I would try googling how to fix that for your specific motherboard model. Not to familiar with Asus. My guess is maybe something with the boot order? Don’t quote me on that though.

Change bios cmos battery cr2032 and update bios version

i just did that and it still boots into bios after resets

It usually comes up with a message about WHY it's booting into the BIOS.

Could be unstable overclock, boot order, etc.

it started when i built my pc last month and to get past it i go to boot menu i click my ssd and it boots me into windows

Do you have multiple drives with Windows installed?

Old SSD / HDD from old PC with Windows + New SSD/HDD with another image of Windows

 

You can also set the boot priority / order within the BIOS.

Make the drive with Windows to be the 1st priority.

i onley have one ssd with windows

Probably because of tbe boot option priority. You can judt go to the bios and set up the boot option for the ssd that contain Windows to be the first priority when booting.
