Yes I have

Download the 7B89v2K BIOS from here: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450M-MORTAR-MAX/support

Extract the zip file, and copy the BIOS file to the flash drive - ensure the flash drive is formatted to FAT32 - and plug it into the USB 2.0 port on the back directly next to the black button. Once you've done that, hit the black button(Flash BIOS button), and there will be an LED that will start flashing. Once it's done, it'll stop blinking. Make sure the power supply is turned on, and the CPU and ATX motherboard cables are plugged in.

And your motherboard and your BIOS is update and compatible with your new CPU?

If you haven't already, you will need to update your BIOS. That may very well be the issue here.

Do you have a flash drive, and a spare computer?

flash drive + separate PC is better, it removes need to swap CPU twice, your MB has BIOS flash feature

Also make sure the file is stored in the root part of the folder structure - that is, it's not in a folder. The motherboard won't be able to see it otherwise.

It worked thank you!!! Only thing was I needed to change the file name to MSI.ROM or something and then it worked flawlessly to update bios
