Psu Power Button

arthurbaxter

My PSU power button doesnt kill power to the PC anymore (i have to switch it off at the wall)

The PC has had some other issues (restarting on a shutdown) what should i do?

PC has been running (seemingly) fine despite all this however

(i think its a corsair 750W, it said it had a 5 year garentee and i got it around 2021 i think)

What do you mean it doesn't kill power to the PC anymore? Are you flipping the switch while the PC is on?

Often times you will still see motherboard lights on even after you flip the switch as there is still some power left in the PSU. To resolve this you typically will just hold down the power button to burn it off.

We need to know the answer to this first before recommendations I believe.

You mean the main power switch at the back of the PSU? I never even used that one once, its kind interesting to see anyone having trouble with it. If its not working on or off, and that is a problem for you then all you can do is to RMA it.

when we built my PC it would only turn on when the power had been fully turned off and on again, the power button only worked that way (idrk why but pc works fine otherwise) so i turn off the switch whenever i stop using my computer

ik the power doesnt stop instantly, but i waited a good minute or so and the light stayed on then i turned off the plug and it instantly turned off

(probably worth sending it back you’re right, just stress and effort having to take everything apart, then rewire)

My concern is that if the switch isn't working, could that potentially be bad

You're talking about the main switch on the actual power supply, correct?
