I am looking for some new, inexpensive yet capable desktop speakers.

I currently have the Logitech Z313 2.1 Channel Speaker System.  I would like something similar in size, price and performance.

I purchased these recently, and they have already started to crap out on me.  I am constantly having to unplug, replug, re-seat the audio jack and sometimes even restart my PC.  The audio will sometimes only work on one side, even when I have headphones plugged into the receiver.  When I first bought them, there was a slight hiss, but it went away after some break-in time.  It has come back all of a sudden, and I have to play with the volume knob to get it to go away.  I am quite pleased with these speakers when working, but they are causing me many headaches as of late.

Doing the whole return and RMA process is going to be a drag I imagine, so I think I will just bite the bullet and buy new.  If anyone could recommend me some new speakers that are similar to these, I would be very grateful.  Something $60 U.S. or less.

Thank you!

i have the logitech Z523 for over 3 years now, my dad has his own set and they are already lasting for a good 5 years. we both have never had any problem with them.

i think they'll cost around a $55 or so, you should check them out.

p.s. i still would do the RMA thingy, they screwed up a product and you don't have to pay for it

I am reading up on the RMA process and it will take far too long, and cost me too much money.  The price to ship the thing back to them is more than what I paid for the speakers, go figure...(Got them on sale for $30)

Why do you expect a similarly priced system to have a better lifetime? I mean, maybe you just got one in a million that got by QC - in which case why not just get another of the same set?

2 months is very poor lifespan.  I should have done more research because when I went to logitech's customer service website, this exact model was one of the top issues.  I was blinded by the $30 price tag.

I was expecting at least a year out of them, but 2 months....

If they are bricked anyway, I'd say find an electronic service guy, or someone who's good at servicing electronics. Depending on what's wrong, you might get away with cheap service fee + working speakers. If it's too expensive, well, they are bricked anyway....
