Hey guys, I need some help to decide on the upgrade path that I can go for. I'm currently stuck on certain decision, and would really like the collective wisdom of PC builders more experienced than me to advise.
- I'm thinking to upgrade to a 7950X3D, but feel that it would likely be overkill, would a 7800X3D suffice?
- On that note, what Motherboard would be recommended, I need something that is able to handle 1xNVMe(2TB), 2xSSD(2TB) and 2xHDD(4TB) with options to expand if needed.
- RAM is also a problem, am not sure what would be a good RAM fit, and similarly would really like some help on this.
- For the GPU, I am looking to consider the 4080 Super when it comes out, but would like some advise on this front also. Currently looking to game at 1440p (which is my current), but would like either an option that has some headroom for 4K in the future, and/or multiple monitors @1440p
Really would love your help guys, thanks!
Hello...
Your current PC looks really amazing already. I wouldn't do a whole Platform Upgrade just yet. Like other have said just go with what you have for now but if you were looking to improve on anything substantial in the meantime then I would go for a decent 360mm AIO like a Thermalright, NZXT, MSI, or Corsair. Stay away from Lian Li AIOs because they tend to leak or get clogged an then you would need a new one. Another thing you could upgrade is the GPU. I'm not sure how you feel about AMD GPUs but if you wanted a RADEON RX 7900XTX then it would be about a 37% improvement over the RTX 3080 Ti. The 7900 XTX would also be the perfect GPU to pair with any newer AM5 CPU when you do decide to make a Platform jump. Also the 7900 XTX will cost a lot less then a new RTX 4080 or 4080 Super and it would give you 8GB more in VRAM for a total of 24GB, right now you can only get that on the RTX 4090.
When you do decide to make a Platform jump then this is what I would get.
