help me choose a monitor for gaming (OLED)

skaad666

Hi all.
I'm trying to pick a monitor for reasonable money and really want a 32 inch and at least 144 hz.
I found Alienware AW3423DWF and Samsung S34BG850SU.
Which one is the best ?
Maybe you can suggest another option ?

I'd say the Alienware, it was good at launch and it's good now

There's also this one but it's more expensive for not many reasons MSI MEG 342C QD OLED 34.2" 3440 x 1440 175 Hz Curved Monitor (MEG 342C QD OLED) - PCPartPicker

if you wanan go OLED then there's this Acer Predator X45 bmiiphuzx 44.5" 3440 x 1440 240 Hz Curved Monitor (UM.MXXAA.001) - PCPartPicker

Message me on discord (bread8669) for more help

It's QD OLED so it shouldn't burn out as quickly as OLED

with the rumored prices of the 2024 monitors, i'd wait til march, and just make sure it's QD-oled not WOLED as samsung seems to have better new panels, or wait to get the old stuff on sale.

I've seen these monitors, I especially liked the ability to switch from 4k 240 hz to 1080 480 hz.
I'm just afraid that the price for them will be more than my budget....

That depends on your budget. 32" 4K 240Hz models will come in around 1100€ for example. Unless you're a hardcore competitive player the ability to swtich to 1080p 480Hz won't be of much worth to you, so you shouldn't pay a premium for it.

For normal human beings 240Hz is already way past the point of diminishing returns, espeically with OLED response times.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

It's the opposite actually, all signs point out to it having more burn-in potential than WRGB OLED (that and the general lack of burn-in warranty)

We're still too close to the initial launch to say for sure, but so far it seems they're pretty similar. RTINGS did 2 new videos since the first one. Turns out the first video and their testing methodology didn't account for temporary image retention, which was the main problem causing the first wave of shocking results.
