Advice for new build upgrades

Go to solution Solved by Somerandomtechyboi,

Id return that 12100f and get a 12600k(f) instead since the 12600k(f) will be alot more worthwhile of an upgrade than a 12100f, if new is too expensive used should have abit of a discount and there is basically no risk of buying a used cpu

As for board choice

N5 z690 for 145£, already has onboard wifi and its a z chipset

Dont think its really worth going any cheaper than this as the cheapest b760 with wifi is at 110£ and that has a much worse vrm, the more expensive b760 are pointless when you can get a z board for the same money

Budget (including currency): £300

Country: United Kingdom

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Valorant, R6, UE5, 3DSMax, ZBrush

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): i3-12100F

I recently got a new CPU for my pc without realising it wasn't compatible with my current motherboard, what would be a good motherboard to buy for what ill be doing, I also current have a 1660 ti and 4x8GB of vengeance ram. I've seen recommendations for the Asrock B660M PRO RS which would need a Wi-Fi card, is there any recommended or needed for that motherboard or does it not matter?

Hello... I would go with this. I would also note that I think you should upgrade the GPU next to maybe like a RTX 4060 Ti 16GB or a Intel ARC A770 16GB.Your games will run much smoother, faster, and look really good. It would be a HUGE difference in both visuals and performance.

Gigabyte B760M Gaming X AX DDR4 mATX £159.00
