[US] [Military/Veterans/Family] 4090 for retail

Avaviel

If you are rated service connected disabled, you can shop here. Just verify with your ssn the last four of your ssn. Don't have to be Navy vet. Or if you're active US military.

But... 4090 at retail. And $10 off with coupon code: NEWYEARS2024
expires on the 6th.

Edit: I've seen the 3080 in stock for a while now there, too. Weird that 'Retail' is a discount.

edit: A correction, it is the last 4 of your social, rather than full social, a fairly standard 'Veterans verification' service. Edit2: I already made my account with them, so I can't show it, but here is the same form but for americanforcestravel.com, it's DOB and last 4 of social. Of course you should verify the website is true to what it says.

This really a joke?

Why should anyone give out their SSN to save a few bucks on an overpriced graphics card and risk identity theft?

While I've never heard of it, and it does look a bit sketch, everything I can find on them seems to indicate that they're legit.

I have been making purchases at the Army exchange. Stuff like an iPad...often Apple stuff is discounted very well.  If you're worried, and have the correct access, you can even walk onto a US Military base and do 'pickup at store'. But I'm too far from a Navy base, so online will have to do.

A correction, it is the last 4 of your social, rather than full social, a fairly standard 'Veterans verification' service.

And... no taxes! Fucked up my hips in the Army, but, hey, no taxes.

Guys the Navy Exchange is certainly legitimate.

Yep. I've been to the Marine version of this (MCX - Marine Corps Exchange) in-person multiple times, my dad was a Marine and some of the bases I grew up on had the physical MCX stores. They sold really everything IIRC, but we were outdoorsy kids so we mostly looked at the hiking/camping gear and knife sections :old-tongue:. From the MCX website it looks like there's also a Coast Guard Exchange, in addition to the already mentioned Navy, Marines, and Army/Air Force ones.

The Coast Gard exchange... I haven't used it before. And funny story, was trying to figure out how to sign up for the Marine Exchange... finally found the shop link and it directed me to the Navy!

From what I can tell is that they're all the same company, but different deals at any moment. Biggest takeaway is zero tax and sometimes discounts off of items that normally don't get discounts.

I was actually introduced to these stores back in 2020/2021 during the big GPU shortage. Even then they were places that people were reliably getting cards for MSRP.

It arrived and I've installed it!

I had to call them and verify the purchase, but it was a simple process. (First time I've bought anything on the Navy Exchange. Had to do the same for the first purchase at the Army Exchange, but not for subsequent purchases.)

It also seems to still be in stock.
