For budget gpu’s go for AMD, RX or R9 Series. If your gonna game in 720p or 1080p that should be fine enough, rx 580 8gb should be about 70-120eiro and has good price per performance.

For that budget consider a Fighter rx 6700 xt.

Rule of thumb is roughly 50 % of your budget to go to gpu.

Otherwise proshop also has the sapphire 6600 or 7600.

Edit: I took a look at the sellers, and damn, the Norwegian market is rough

mITX is awesome! I regret nothing (apart from when picking parts or have to do maintainance *cough*cough*)

There is no point spending 50% of your budget for gpu if you cant balance it out with a proper cpu and ram, so there is no bottleneck.

True. On the other hand, it's usually the GPU that is the bottleneck at this price range

He has $1000 budget please don't recommend he spends only 7% if his budget in a very old no longer supported gpu.

I mean there is the topic if he buys the parts second hand or new, if second hand you can get a good gpu for a good price and wont bottleneck

That doesn't mean he has to spend all of his money. I agree its not the best gpu there is, but at 1k budget im not sure he will be gaming with a 4k monitor, so any older RX series gpu can be good enough.

This is a much better approach , Telling him he needs to buy an RX580 is bad.

There's compromises in there I don't like making but the Norwegian Market is alot less cost effective for users.

This is upto you , There's not a wrong or right answer here.

If you can wait then it's not a bad idea but it might be better to just wait another month and pick up maybe a 6700XT instead of a 6600XT.

Putting 10% of your current budget into a 1070 is fine but that 10% could have just gone to that upgraded gpu.
