in all reality its a 7970 vs a 7950.. personally i would save the few bucks and get the 280 and do a small oc and itll match or come close to matching a 280x for cheaper

a 280 is a re branded 7950 they are essentially the same card, 7950's are cheap because they are the last generation. a 270x is actually a 7870

i have to get a 280x then no doubt is the windforce card reliable?

Yes the windforce cards are fantastic they have a really nice cooler on them. But then you gotta realize the 280x is actually a 7970 :P the only cards that amd made in the r9 series that are actually new and not rebrands were the 290 and 290x however a 280x is a really solid card and will last you a long time as would the 280

Because purchasing games and sending chat messages is very graphics intensive.

lol

The 280 would be the one to go for if you are on a tight budget, it's also in the gold tier of AMD's game bundle which means 3 FREE GAMES WOOHOO! But if you can stretch a bit further get the 280X if you really want.

And you can overclock a 280x to a 290, and so on. Again a worthless comment from you.

OT: A 280x for only 35 bucks more and even with a perfect cooling solution is so much worth it, you won't regret getting the 280x over the 280 for only 35 bucks extra.
