Here is a full clear view of the final product.

I taped up the sides of the rangehood with some cardboard to prevent loss of cool air from the sides and to hopefully improve airflow even more.

From that angle, it looks like a fish tank on an angle iron stand. 😉

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

The fans are excellent if you need to move a large amount of air. But they are not a quiet fan.. you know this already though.  I sit 8 or 9 feet from my tower, and if I have it loaded with iPPC fans, I can hear them upstairs on the main floor when they are running at full speed, no problem. If you like those fans, you should try a good 120x38.

@freeagent I do have a dozen or so 19k rpm server fans just hanging around from some dead servers that were donated to me. The kind that are on those "drop in-drop out" hotswap bays. I regularly use one of them to de-dust my pc occasionally. I soldered some wires to it, heat shrinked it, put a molex connector to it & use one of the molex connectors from my psu to power it 😂

Pics provided of my ahem... "patent pending" 19k rpm pc-de-duster.

F**K buying overpriced compressed air lol.

Side note - tangentially related to this post. I've noticed video sizes are heavily limited on posts here. Is there a certain way to post bigger sized videos on this forum I'm not aware of? Or is providing utube links to videos in this forum acceptable for stuff I want to show?

I'd rather post videos directly to this forum. Not really keen on sharing my utube socials (even if there's literally nothing on it lol).

i've had them sitting around for months...i can't figure out a reasonable use for them in my house or in my server cabinet because of just how bloody loud & stupid over the top they are. I once considered putting a few in my pc case "for the memes" but then i saw just how powerful & loud they are. I was genuinely concerned i'd damage or bend something in my case from the insane wind force oh and my hearing haha.

I have a stack of my old Panaflo NMB fans. 12v, 2 wire.. super simple. 2500RPM, 103CFM I think. but they move way more than a dinky NF-F12 3K. Quieter too.

I've done a few hours of googling and watching utube reviews of AIO's and air coolers with the 5800X3D. My current cooling setup seems to be equivalent to that of a 360 AIO. Pretty chuffed with that.

Note I said seems to be lol. Now I think about it, i never actually saw idle temps on any of the reviews, articles or vids I watched. Only performance testing, or max load tests. I also do see 1.119v aswell. i will test.

360 here:

c.png.e1b4a5e4f87d35508a7151aa49a99cb5.png

i tried to replicate the exact 1.119v for cpu but my bios wouldn't let me. I've always had that issue with several settings in the x570-e bios. Various voltage control settings for other things also have that issue. Unsure why. I had a choice of 1.113 or 1.120 very odd. Assuming your going max fan speed on AIO pump - Assuming max speed of AIO was probably somewhere between 2000-3000 rpm i chose 2500rpm.

The very top temp can be ignored. CPU tctl/tdie & CPU CCD1 tdie can be ignored here - they are both affecting each other's scores. The tctl/tdie score is always 5-10 degrees more than every other temp represented. Nobody ever counts it as the actual temp. Alot of ppl have assumed this might be some sort of safety margin for the cpu itself.

Very unrealistic fan speeds for myself lol, very noisy, fun though. Always fun to see mates faces when i go full speed and see their faces go WTF!!?? at how noisy 6 3000rpm fans can be.

On average i'd say it's safe to say my temps are pretty much 5 degrees within temps shown by yourself - which to me is pretty dang acceptable. There are other variables pretty much unable to be easily changed such as case config, fans, thermal paste etc...mostly because i just cbf lol.

Are you able to do an idle test at 1.21v?

I am also using PBO settings, per core CO -30. I don't know why I can't, that's the thing, I've always had these "unable to select whatever voltage I wanted" issues. if being unable to select whatever voltage I want is attributed to a particular setting I've never been aware of it. The x570-e bios is so buggy. It took me ages to realise certain settings were never actually active or completely disabled because I was "in the wrong sub-menu" for it. Hell I could still be using the wrong settings page lol.

Honestly, not much you can do with the chip. It is pretty locked down. Manually controlling vcore,  lowering power limits, these are things that should not be done. Tune using PBO and CO.
