Fortnite Chapter 5 crashing and freezing issues. RX6700xt 5700x asrock b450m(?)

LuckyLogan

Ive gotten back into fortnite and have been experiencing multiple crashes / freezes within a 2 hour time period. this very rarely happens in any other games i play, maybe crashing once over a 60 hour play time. Fortnite on the other freezes nearly every match for at least 10 seconds and upwards of a minute in some cases and the rest of my computer is perfectly responsive. Happens at the start of a round super consistently, including rocket racing. I have reinstalled fortnite twice and reinstalled gpu drivers 3 times

Dear Logan, i would suggest to use "DDU unistaller" , and try the installation of the latest software again.
(Plus if you have any kind of software overclocking to deactivate it.)

Let me know, thank you!

Normally freeze it's caused by many factor.

You could try to use a oldest driver a stable One of your GPU.

You could try to go in your BIOS and reset everything for see That everything is setted correctly.

But most of all, tecnically freeze could be caused by overclock of GPU, did you reset everything and taking away every kind of OC setting?

Directly update your bios to the latest version.
If you still have problem with the new Bios try the following:

Try installing the AMD Ryzen™ Balanced Snappy or AMD Ryzen™ Ultimate Performance power plan. After that, see if the PC is stable or not.
Power plans can be found here:
https://www.overclock.net/threads/ryzen-custom-power-plans-for-windows-10-balanced-and-ultimate-and-...

If it still not working check:

1)  you are running separate power cables from your power supply to each power input on your GPU.

2) Make sure you have good air flow to keep your VRM's and RAM cool too

Your issue's can/could be attributed to any kind of cable extenders INSIDE the case and/or PCIe riser cables .. a PSU that is just not up to the task of running things at 100% load ..unstable overclocks .. to name a few
