So, I was thinking about upgrading my speakers which are Boston Acoustics Home Theater 2.1. I just want to see how much I have to spend just to get as nice of quality as these and I really haven't found anything better yet. So, I don't have much of a price point because I'm just looking as of right now. These are from the 90's and still sound freaking amazing but I think Its time to retire them and get new ones.

Ok since people are complaining about a price point since I didn't have one and I figured everyone would do a reasonable price I will just say a price point $250-300 and can go a little higher since I want these speakers to last as long as the ones I have. Also size doesn't really matter Since they will be mounted above my monitors

What sort of size limit are you working with? As Enderman suggests, if you really have no budget, you could look at proper monitors or even high end bookshelves that work well for near field like some small Harbeths. If you have the space for them.

I auditoned some Harbeths when I was looking for my current hifi speakers and they were pretty damn special. Couldn't justify the expense in the end, but one day...

How about no.

Well for that you can pick up a set of A2+'s, though if you really want a sub you can pick on up later. Though subs are larger so thats a thing that goes against you.

I don't get why people ask for suggestions but don't list a price range in the original post. Like, how are people supposed to help?

One possibility is to get Krk Rokit 6 used. It will be cheaper than Audioengine A5+.

Presonus Eris 4.5 would fit his size requirement better tho.

I don't see a size requirement on the first post... Probably he posted his requirements after the OP...  <_<

So it's not OP.

I still don't get why people don't post exactly what they want from a suggestion at the time of asking for said suggestion.

Its also called reading the whole thread in order to find out if the OP changed his mind or added something later, kinda helpful.

No thanks.

Not when the OP didn't make enough effort to mention the size requirement OR a price range. An edit button exists for the OP, right?

Well thats a lowly way to go about it all, threads progress and change, you should read them all in order to get all of the information before you go about suggesting anything, not just the op.

The OP didn't change his mind. His budget didn't change, his size requirement didn't change. He just didn't bother to list them at all. They make an effort, and I'll make an effort.

I don't think your attempts to chide me into agreeing you will lead us anywhere except from spamming his thread. So I'll make this the last off topic post from me in this thread.

Are 5 inch woofers too big for you? If not I highly recommend the Swan D1080-iv. I don't have the S8 sub so I am using the speakers by themselves and they still amaze me with their sound, playing this album from Shokran and still sounds great, the bass especially.
