Alot of the time I play games I have a youtube video or something similar in a peripheral screen.

Occasionally my sound stops for a second, makes strange loud random noises, then either stops playing sound completely or is different. ( sounds off balance and just strange )

This happens most common with League of legends while watching a video on youtube threw chrome, However it will happen while doing almost anything.

The only way to fix it seems to be to restart the computer. Or every now and then just randomly starts working again.

It was happening, I reinstalled sound driver, month later it popped up again and I reinstalled sound driver and nothing happened.

DO I have a bad sound card?

You are using a sound card?

Have you tried the on board audio instead?

I got the sound card because my onboard has static. ( also i needed a mic and it looked pretty

Hmm

When you reinstalled the drivers, was this for the onboard audio or the sound card?

You should update both :) because onboard is still used with the card

This may be a problem with your motherboard...

Try using the onboard audio (even if it has static) and see if the same problems occur while gaming

If they do not occur and the static is the only problem then it must be your sound card.

If the same problems happen with onboard audio, then you will need a new motherboard :(

Yeah pretty sure they will. Make sure its your motherboard though, not your sound card.
