hi i checked my dad's rig today and he showed me that his i5 4670k is still stable at 4.2 ghz

so i asked him  dad can you do that for me too... he tried but he said mine wasnt able to break 4.1ghz

 

is my cpu faulty? or is that a limit?

PS: my dad oced my cpu only to 4 ghz he said that would be stable... still dont understand what he ment...

No CPU is created equal, every single chip will OC differently

Swap your cpu for your dads when he's not home :P

as @ShadowCaptain said, every Chip will OC differently from other chips, your dad got 4.2Ghz, others are getting up to 4.4~4.5Ghz, you see,

take your father's CPU, and get him a ¨Pentium as consolation :D
