I am buying a i7-12700 .Is it better than the f or k varient and also is it better than i5-13500? The use of pc is for creative purposes and medium gaming. The gpu is 1650 super

f versions have no igpu (and therefore require a gpu to have display)

k versions can be overclocked

13500 is faster but has less cores (although it has more P-cores and as many threads as the 12700)

Have you done any thinking about AMD?

Have you bought the mobo already?

If not would you like a some help? What is your budget?

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

I haven't bought anything yet.but the gpu might be handed to me for 70usd by a cousin. I was suggested not to buy an amd for creative work ,although a little help is appreciated. My budget is 650 usd for the full build.

Depends on what your creative work would be, some Intels do well with certain things and AMD's are the same way with other things.
If you were to define what creative work you refer to, the guys here can either confirm or deny an Intel being the best choice for it.

This is so whatever you get will be best for what you are wanting to do and not waste $$ in the process along with other things like if it's going to need lots of RAM or maybe not that much and so on.
