I did know who that guy with the confusing name is, and I live in the US. I am ashamed.

Oppenheimer shouldn't be ashamed, he probably prevented open conflict between USA & USSR in the Cold War. Plus the technology is now mainly used for emission-less power.

 

So he fears that his work will be used as he intends? I'm sure he should understand that a truckload of killers, terrorists and criminals have been removed from society thanks to his technology.

Amazing work, and I congratulate the scientist, but how did he not see this coming? As someone in the article said, it's like the architect of the Death Star only realised what he had done after he built it, or someone saying, "Oh, here's my ultra powerful weapon, but please don't use it on anyone". I realise I'm being critical here, but seriously?
