Hello Techs,

 

Im having problems with .mkv files playing on my LG TV via USB.

 

Ive read that i need to convert the video to MP4 and that fixes the codec issue on LG, I tried HD Video convertor free but it wont convert above 720p they have a paid version for 4k and so on

 

So before i bite the bullet and pay i though i would ask if anyone knows of a better solution to this issue or what the best progam there is for conversion.

 

Ideally free but 4k is more important.

Also is there a program that will download an entire youtube playlist so you dont have to add each url 1 by 1.

Handbrake for ease-of-use; ffmpeg if you need to tweak some esoteric setting.

I use Handbrake to convert all my video, most of which start life as .mkv files and end as MP4s.

You can pick which container and codec you'd like, you can also re-encode to anything you'd like (uses ffmpeg to achieve that).
There are GUIs out there for it (search github).

As a note, your playlist needs to be public or unlisted, not hidden, for this to work (if you're trying to download from a playlist you made).
