I wanna buy a new board for i7-3770k

Go to solution Solved by harrynowl,

Thanks for that follow thing, and I keep forgetting the specs lol.

So yea

CPU- i7-3770k

Mobo- Z77X-UD3H

RAM-Mushkin 16GB DDR3

GPU- GTX 770 Windforce

PSU-Rosewill 750W 80 Plus Gold

Cooler- H100i

Case-Fractal Define R4

SSD- None atm

HDD- 2 WD Blue 1TB 1 WD Green 3TB

If you REALLY need a new board...

Try get your hands on:

ASRock Z77 Fatal1ty

ASRock Z77 OC Formula

ASUS Sabretooth Z77

ASUS ROG Z77

Gigabyte G.1 Sniper Z77

Gigabyte Z77 UD5H/UP7

Although your current board is fine and is good for overclocking so I wouldn't spend money here to be honest.

You can SLI 770s with your current board, but for single 1080p gaming 1 is just fine.

New RAM won't really do anything in terms of performance also. I'd prioritize an SSD over all other upgrades at this point.

A learning experience is also to learn that you don't need to make unnecessary upgrades to your PC, as fun as it is. I've been there and done that and it can get quite costly and silly.

I want a new gaming/overclocking motherboard for i7-3770k.

Budget is about $200. I'm planning to buy Corsair Dom. Plat. ram and another GTX 770 Windforce to run in SLI

I don't only want your honest opinion but I would like some reasons why please. (Wanna make this a learning experience)

Thanks alot forum.

Do you already got a board for it and looking for a new one?

if yes, DONT buy any new z77 board, Broadwell is here Q4 and that shoud be your new upgrade.

If you dont got a board wait for the other comments to appeal with recommendations

Are you buying the 3770k new? If you are just wait for either devils canyon or broadwell. If not you can probably pick up an Asus Maximus V board for around that price.

Thanks for all your feedback! I'll keep my current board, and memory. I just upgrade storage and fans at this point. Thanks again :)
