hi there, wanna ask something i'm planning to buy new AIO for my 13700 soon...
it idle on 40°C-ish and last time i tried to run cinebench2024, it reach 100°C on multicore test for 10mins

i'm using id cooling Zoomflow 240 now and i have NZXT Kraken 280 in mind.
My question is, is it gonna make any different? or is it just be the same?

oh i'm using phanteks p360x as my case.

Spoiler

No cooling will help you. Your case is simply too restrictive to have enough airflow.

Top mounting you aio as intake should help a lot with getting enough air to cool and that low end aio should potentially be fine then

A better cooler wont help as is as there is not airflow due to the very restrictive front panel

I'd check to make sure all your fans aren't exhausting here.  It should be pulling air in through the radiator.

cant mount the rad on top, as you can see the top fan nearly touch the vrm heatsink

Ideally a larger case AND AIO.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

Basically. Will the aio cool the cpu properly in a better case? Debateable. But will any cooler cool that cpu in that case? Simply a no.

Quite literally the phanteks p360a or p400a or p300a are all mesh and handle that just fine.

A good test would be to just rip the front panel off and run the pc without. Good chance that either:

A. cpu runs faster because better cooler thus hotter and cooler still can't keep up

B. cpu runs the same but cooler can keep up

C. Cpu barely runs faster and cooler can't keep up

D. everything works out fine

Thanks for properly explaining it.

well, since you point out the case might be the prob, so i'm thinking to switch it with Hyte Y60. Then, will my current AIO will works just fine? or do i still need to change to 280 or 360 rad?

where is it getting the air from now?  ask the guy with the helm lol 😛

you're not helping at all. I'm not good with cooling system and all, that's why i ask here hoping for better answer. But thanks for commenting anyway.

me: coolers needs air to cool down a pc, and urs isnt getting much
you:  you're not helping at all.

oookkeeeii, if pointing out that ur cooler is probably more than fine and that the case is the problem, isnt helping..

If you write this down in the first place instead of using a meme or going roundabout...
well, thanks. Appreciate it nonetheless

This is why I am asking you to remove the front panel from your pc and run it without to see if the coolerwhen given air does work well

The hyte 60 is better but also id recommend better cheaper cases

Nudge... not everyone understands English really well, especially ESL, let alone has the same sense of humor. 😜

I learned that the hard way in Indonesia, where people would laugh at my jokes but have no idea what was so funny. Why? Because I would smile and laugh, so they did the same to be polite, all while not asking "WTF?" 🤣

But before any try without the panel to check if your aio is ok. If its not we can do a nice combo of aio + case that suit eachother well

tried run cinebench again with front panel off, the temp is the same, but itrun sligtly faster...
