I've killed 2 mobos in a row trying to build my first PC and have no clue why. Help would be appreciated.

Have you correctly plugged the front panel connectors on the motherboard? Have you also tried to turn on pc using the screw driver method while in the case?

I'll keep this short as I've answered this multiple times already, but yes and yes. The front panel connectors are correctly connected to the motherboard and I've tried the screwdriver method while in the case. As mentioned above, with both motherboards and both attempts at this build, it worked outside the case but didn't work in the case and didn't work after I'd taken it out of the case, either.

Literally, the exact same thing happened with the new motherboard. It worked perfectly when I installed it out of the case and tested using the screwdriver method, but when I installed it inside of the case and turned on the pc, nothing happened and similar to last time, now the screwdriver method of turning on the pc isn't working either. Everything is plugged in the same as when I did the out-of-case screwdriver test plus the case cords, etc.

Can we see the power connectors you plugged into the top left corner of the motherboard from the power supply?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

My only thought at this point is that there is a fault with the case fpanel connector that is frying the boards somehow. That’s the only difference between having the board out of the case vs in the case.

Building computers is literally just expensive Lego. It’s not hard, and components are mostly durable even if you’re a bit rough. You’re having some kind of a freak issue with that case. Sorry you’re going through this.

My plan would be to rma the case and rma the board and try again.
