Is it safe to not use an IO shield on my gpu?

Canvas139

I have a GPU which can fit in a low profile PCIe case (and I need it to) but I don't have the low profile bracket.

Can I just run it without the bracket?

It's not ideal - but not needed really. It'll just make your PC look weird.

But if you don't care about looks, it'll be fine.

Just don't move the PC around much, since the slot will be the only thing holding the card in place.

Try to zip tie it to the chassis or something if the case is going to be mounted vertically.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

It's a GT 730, it literally weighs nothing and its small - I'm sure it'd be chill

I've been using an M.2 in a PCIe x4 (It's x1 though) and it's worked fine for the time it's been in there, if it's lightweight it's probably not going to cause any issues

I don't move the computer around at all, and I'm fine to re-seat it when I do

To quote a great tech philosopher, "should be fine".
