All system specs?

What are you using to measure the usage with?

What performance are you getting in the game at what settings and resolution?

mulitplayer 190fps/ and warzone 2 100-140 fps

Well then, the measurements are bad. You would not get nowhere near 30FPS not to mention over 100FPS with just 5%-15% GPU usage in that game. Use HWinfo64 or GPU-Z.

Judging by the FPS if you're getting: nothing.

What could you upgrade to? Whatever you can afford. We'd need some kind of ballpark what you want, e.g. games, resolution, frame rate, ray tracing: yes/no, upscaling: yes/no.

what do you mean broken?

They're way too low, but unlike the CPU/GPU utilisation, your FPS does not sound broken.

high fps in fortnite, warzone, apex, minecraft/ im getting good enough fps in all but also get 100 or up on story games, because in hogwarts legacy and jedi survivor i barely hit 60 and im on all low settings

and for the other questions, no ray tracing, no upscaling

and my resolution 1080p

Hi i need some help figuring it if im having cpu or gpu bottle neck

when i play warzone 2 i get around 50% cpu usage and 5-15% gpu usage

my cpu is a ryzen 7 7700x

and my gpu is a rtx 3060

is that a good pair?

if not what should i upgrade to?

CPU bottleneck, games can't use more than 3-4 cores so you can't get 100% CPU usage on an 8 cores

GPU is nearly idling which is weird, but then you can crank up settings and won't lose any frames

Not much to upgrade except with a 7800X3D but this will give only +15% performance max imo

To make it a worthwhile upgrade, then I'd want at least a 4070 or 7800 XT, when you're replacing a 3060.

In this article, a 3060 had an average FPS of 61, with lows of 49, when playing at 1080p/Ultra settings in Hogwarts.

In this article from the same website, a 7800 XT reached 111 with lows of 81 (1080p/Ultra).

What settings are you using in- game?

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

look, the problem here is you didn't check all cores of your cpu, i can pretty much guarantee you this is a classic cpu bottleneck.... there isnt much you can do in that case.  lock the framerate to 90 - anything that your system can actually do, that should give you a much better experience instead of trying to find out "whats wrong"  - there doesn't seem anything to be particularly wrong with your setup, there will always be a bottleneck...

if you want more performance  - better cpu first, then gpu/ perhaps ram....

The direction tells you... the direction

If you haven't already try increasing the in-game settings. If it doesn't shift more work to the GC then your CPU is most likely the problem. Low settings force the CPU to work harder...

FSR on balanced at 1080p...Oh dear.

First of all you are running the game at 1129 x 635 which is going to look horrible aswell as giving your GPU nothing to do.

Run the game at native 1080p and start upping graphics settings till you get the GPU atleast into the high 80's on usage , You are single core bound so give the GPU some work to do whilst enjoying a game that looks atleast decent.

Your CPU is solid so unless you want to splash out on a 7800X3D there's really not much you can do to increase FPS at this point.
