Help with upgrading graphics card

Hi,

I've been out of the game for a long long time and I have no idea wich graphics card would suite me best to upgrade to.

Been having a lot of crashes with starfield and stuttering with my current GC even while playing on low.

So i'm thinking it's time for an upgrade.

 

Budget is between €350 and €500.

 

I was looking at this card at the moment:

But maybe there are better options price wise?

 

My current system

-Ryzen 7 1700

- 16 gb ram

- 1tb SSD

- 1440p

- RX 480 8GB

 

Games i play are:

- EA FC 24

- Starfield

- Pro Cycling Manager

- Assassins creed

- Jedi Fallen order

You're using that setup for 1440p?  No wonder you're stuttering.  Both your CPU and GPU are weak, relatively.

 

The 6750XT is an excellent choice.  What Motherboard do you have?  May want to drop in a more modern CPU if possible.

I'd add ram later and get the better card, 16gb should be plenty enough to get by until you can scrape a little more cash and then upgrade further, easier to upgrade RAM later than buy another gpu again at a later date

Should notice a sizeable uptick in performance.  RAM is secondary, as 16GB is enough for a gaming machine.  32GB is nice, depends on the games you play of course.

What's the brand and model of your PSU?

 

4 dimms of RAM suck on 1st gen Ryzen. Even on 5th gen it's hard to get it stable, especially when the RAM are seperate kits.

Yep, that's why I put this too "32GB is nice, depends on the games you play of course."

 

My modded Minecraft and modded Ark routinely break 16GB used, and if I fire up Starfield  at the same time, it'll eat up a lot more.

 

Wasn't sure your willingness to spend more than you absolutely had to, but I advocate 32GB if you can.
