Safely host a minecraft server.

Try connect on minecraft like that

public_ip:25565

It should work first then no-ip service

True but it's more for community or bigger.

Why all hassle just to play with friends.

Also reminder to OP

Close port once you're done hosting server.

I get this error on Minecraft when connecting to the server:

It's working, because your ip is reachable but rejected so the port is not working yet or haven't passed through to your server

Or minecraft server isn't up yet.

I'm jank tinkerer if it works then it works.

Regardless of compatibility 🐧🖖

But I have it configured on my router, so I would need to configure the firewall?

and when I went to add the rule to ufw firewall, it was already configured (I must have already configured it)

Is your server have local static ip adress?

And is same on modem and is it directly connected to modem and server?

The external IP works when on the local address, but when I am on an external network, it does not work

I'm clueless why its not working.

Try follow this guide and maybe you missed some steps

Here's link to the guide.

If you want router specific guide then

Here's link to portfoward guide

(Do select minecraft pc it will show which router/modem you need to configure)

If it still doesn't work then something is broken or not willing to work.

Good luck 👍

I'm using Bell's Home Hub 3000 router, could it be an issue with its firmware?
