i9 13900k + RTX 4080 | CS2 fps stuttering.

Quantino

Hello. I have i9 13900k, RTX 4080, 6400mhz 64gb ram 2sticks, Asus rog strix z790-f mobo and m.2 ssd. When playing CS2 my fps goes from 400-600 to 150fps sometimes or even 0 for a second. I’ve played cyberpunk everything on ultra also hogwarts legacy and i never had any stuttering or fps drop issues. Im playing on 1080p everythings low except shadows on high as it very important and also 8x MSAA as otherwise the game isn’t sharp.

Unfortunately right now the 13900k is the worst CPU for CS2 as the game keeps using the E-cores more instead of the P-cores.

You need to go into BIOS and disable E-cores for CS2 performances to significantly improve

LOL, absolutely not. Just disable the E-cores and wait for Valve to patch the bug

  • 3 weeks later...

I have almost the same setup as you except that I have 32GB of RAM.  I found that doing -threads 8 in the launch options for the game has entirely eliminated my stutters.
